On Loving A Sailor...
Well, got this poem from the Net. It goes both ways for Brenly and I (we're seafarers anyways...)Loving a sailor is a high price to payLoving him truly is hard when he is awayIt's being alone with nothing to holdIt's being young but feeling so oldIt's having him whispering his love to youand whispering back, that you love him tooThere comes a kiss and a promise for moreas his ship slowly glides away from the shoreReluctantly, painfully, letting him goWhile deep within you are dying from waiting him soWatching him leave with eyes full of tearsStanding alone with your hopes, dreams and fearsIt's sending a letter with a stamp up side downTo a far away love in a far away townIt's going to a temple, to kneel and prayand really meant the things you've saidBeing in love will foster your dreamsOf that far away sailor, your mind fearly beamsDays go by, no may for a spellYou wait for some words to know he's wellThen a letter arrives and you've given inTo open his letter and read it with a grinYes, he's well and misses you soAnd filled with love you wanted to knowWeeks seems like months and months seems like yearsYou wait for the day when you have no more fearsdays sail by like a sea so roughAnd suddenly you realised he's here at lastYes baby, loving a sailor is filled with bitterness and fearsLoneliness, sadness and despondent yearsTo know that he will be back for youyour heart tells he's just for youLoving a sailor is no funBut it's worth the price when the battle is wonAnd remember, he is thinking of you everydayHe's sad and lonely while so far awaySo love him and miss him and look up highBe strong, and brave, and wipe your tears awayYour man is a seafarer, like that old ancient traderIt's the high price to pay for loving a sailor
